    Summer
    of
    Serious Fun

From June 2 - September 10, 2006, the Royal BC Museum in Victoria will be the place to be for some "serious fun" that's geared to the entire family. Two special exhibits, Fore! The Planet developed by the U.S. Academy of Natural Sciences and SPEED developed by the Center of Science and Industry (COSI) Columbus, will offer visitors 10,000 sq. ft. of highly interactive, high tech learning about science and the natural world. Fore! The Planet, making its Canadian debut, is mini-golf with a twist. Each of the 18 holes teaches a different aspect of natural history with important messages on stewardship and conservation. SPEED, a hit at top US science centers including Space Centre Houston, has 21 interactive exhibits that deliver a high-speed plunge into the world of high performance. Visitors will be able to spin their wheels as they try to balance acceleration and friction, design their own roller coaster, build LEGO® cars and race against each other, and learn about people who use speed to test their own abilities or the limits of technology.
