    Ladysmith Festival of Lights
    The 18th Annual Festival of Lights will commence in Ladysmith, British Columbia with the "light-up" on Thursday, November 24, 2005. Festival Society volunteers fundraise year round to stage over 150,000 "twinkling" Christmas lights in the street, park, rooftops and building displays from Nov 24th to January 1st. The light up ceremonies attract over 12,000 visitors from all over Vancouver Island. Over 200 volunteers help to put up and take down displays and work on Light Up Night. Highlights from the event include street and stage entertainment, the Kinsmen Light Up Parade, concessions, visit from Santa, souvenirs and fireworks.
